30 October 2006.
The next meeting for College Republicans at UCSD will be in Center Hall 217B (map). Please be advised that this room is on a completely different part of campus beyond where we have been meeting in the past. Further details about the meeting coming soon.

24 October 2006.
Our meeting this week will be at 8 PM on Wednesday in the San
Francisco/Santa Cruz Room of Price Center (map).
We will be inviting our guest speaker Ralph Denney, 76th Assembly District
candidate, to speak on Wednesday night. Also, we will be finalizing
transportation plans (train tickets, carpools) for the YAF WCLC.
If any of you are interested in going shooting tonight at Iron
Sights, please let Jocelyn know ASAP. We will be there at around 7 PM. No
fees will be imposed from 6 - 10 PM for ladies. You can find the address
and more information on their website.
Also, get excited for the CCR Get Out the Vote weekend! It's happening
November 3 - 4 and CRs from around the state are coming down to help out
Shirley Horton and her assembly district race! We might be provided with
a hotel room for everyone to crash it, which will be a great opportunity
to meet all the CRs from the other schools. Sign-ups begin this
Wednesday.
16 October 2006.
We've got a competition going on! The College Republicans chapter in San
Diego that records the highest attendance at their fourth meeting (which
is THIS Wednesday at 8 PM in the Davis/Riverside room) will receive a
large, barrel-sized container of a delicious beverage... lots of winks and
nudges. Bring all of your friends! Only the people who attend this
meeting will have access to this "beverage container", so make sure you
don't miss out!
Additionally, our vice chair internal will be personally donating four
t-shirts to the club to be handed out to the first four CRs who arrive at
the meeting. Make sure you come early to get one!
Michelle Little will also be coming to promote a film called "9/11 Press
For Truth," which will be screened on Saturday in Encinitas. We will be
arranging carpools.
We will also be inviting Joel Anderson (candidate for the 77th Assembly
District) to speak on Wednesday. Also, let us know If you are interested
in any internships (both paid and unpaid) or volunteer opportunities; we
have so many available! We will also be discussing details for the Young
America's Foundation West Coast Leadership Conference on Nov. 10 - 11.
See you Wednesday!
9 October 2006.
Our next meeting will be this Wednesday, October 11, at 8:00PM, again in the Davis/Riverside Room of the Price Center.
We will have two speakers: Marisa Glatzer from YAF, who will come to talk about the West Coast Leadership Conference. John "Woody" Woodrum, Republican candidate for the 53rd District of California will also be joining us. The 53rd District includes UCSD and surrounding neighborhoods, so if you're interested in San Diego-Washington politics, come to our meeting!
On a final note, the Leadership Council now has vacancies in the following positions: (A) Secretary, (B) Social Coordinator, (C) Executive Director, (D) Deputy Vice Chair of Internal Affairs, and (E) Deputy Vice Chair of External Affairs. More information about acquiring these spots will be posted as they become available, but rely on details to be mentioned during our Wednesday meeting.
5 October 2006.
Thanks to all for coming to our second meeting. Photos and minutes from last night's meeting are now available. The College Republicans at UCSD would like to extend an extra special thanks to Larry Kincaid, of whom we have now officially endorsed.
The following upcoming events have received the green light:
Iron Sights Shooting Range in Oceanside, this coming Saturday, October 7, 10:00AM. We have a reservation, and therefore cheaper group rates, and none of the well-accustomed shooting lane wait time. There will be a flat rate of $5 per person, then we'll all split the costs of rentals and ammunition. All together, it should be about $15-25 per person. Carpools will be provided. Government issue identification (driver license, military ID, etc.) is required. For further details and RSVP, contact Aaron.
Miramar Air Show in MCAS Miramar, next Saturday, October 14. It's advertised as the largest military airshow in the world! Box seats are $13 now when you reserve on-line, or $16 at the door. If you wish to purchase your tickets ahead of time on-line, please contact Alea so we can make arrangements to sit with each other. Carpools will be provided, and will likely be necessary due to the parking hassle and registration issues. For further details and RSVP, contact Alea.
2 October 2006.
Our next meeting will be this Wednesday in the same room and time (Price Center Davis/Riverside, 8:00pm). This week's speaker will be Larry Kincaid, running for Superior Court Judge of San Diego. We will also cover some internal club electoral issues.
The minutes for the previous meeting have been posted on the documents page.
Finally, this Saturday, October 7, we will have our first shooting event at Iron Sights shooting range in Oceanside. For more details and to RSVP, check out the Facebook event here. If Facebook isn't to your fancy, please either attend Wednesday's meeting or contact Aaron.
