Many thanks to everyone who showed up to our first meeting! It is because of you that makes College Republicans thrive! Pictures from this meeting are now available on the photos page. Leadership Council minutes from last week in preparation for this successful meeting are also available on the documents page. Meeting minutes for tonight's meeting will be posted Monday at the latest.

PRESS RELEASE: College Republicans Remember 9/11
Dateline: September 22, 2006
LA JOLLA, Calif. - On September 21, 2006, several College Republicans members rose early in
the morning before classes started to plant 3000 flags in honor of those who perished on September 11. A belated but bittersweet memorial, the "911" on UCSD's Price Center's East Lawn compelled many questions.
As members organized the flags, passers-by asked what the flags
represented. One member replied, "It's our memorial to honor those who died on 9/11" With that, the public also honored the dead.
The memorial, which lasts approximately 48 hours from Thursday
morning to Friday night, will hopefully send the message that we must
never forget such an infamous day.

Tabling and T-shirts! On the first day of the school year, the College Republicans at UCSD is proud to report a record $100 in fundraising, generated from t-shirt sales and voter registration. Many thanks to all our loyal members.
Our club t-shirts (image) are selling like hotdonkeys, and quantities-- in particular, small sizes-- are growing smaller by the second. Due to these limited quantities, we cannot place any items on hold, and availability can only be made at a first-come, first-serve basis. Holds will only be honored when sales die down after Welcome Week. So please find our table on Library Walk early on this week in order to guarantee yourself a shirt.

Welcome to Welcome Week 2006! This is the most important period of the year for College Republicans, as it is the peak season for recruiting new members. That means you! We will have a recruitment table out from Monday to Friday 10:00am to 3:00pm on Library Walk. Things on Library Walk to look out for:
- Meet-and-greet with your friendly club officers! Including: Kangaroo Kris, Patrick the Pistol, and Soph Sierra of San Diego. (Collect them all!)
- Be one of the first to purchase our new 2006-2007 club t-shirts for only $10 (design to be posted online very soon)!
- September 11th Memorial Event on Thursday and Friday. Never forget.
This news page will now be updated weekly, every Monday morning or afternoon. Should there be a big development, there may be additional postings during the week. However, always rely on the Monday update.

Welcome to the 2006-2007 year for the College Republicans at the University of California at San Diego! This year, we promise to provide a more navigable site, keeping you more up to date with meetings, events, and social activities.
Our first meeting of the year will be Wednesday, September 27 at 8:00 PM in the Price Center Davis/Riverside room. All new members welcome.
